Natural Resources of Oronoco>Biking

Biking

There is plenty of opportunity to bicycle around the Oronoco and on many paved country roads heading in all directions from Oronoco. A four mile ride or drive west on Olmsted County #12 brings cyclers to the Douglas Trail, a multiple use State trail with a paved tread way leading 5 miles northwest to Pine Island or 8 miles southeast to Rochester. Along the Douglas Trail a bicycler can find yellow lady slippers, showy orchis, morel mushrooms, bluebirds, wild turkeys and much more. In addition, the Cannon Valley, Root River, and Sakatah/Singing Hills Trails, each between 20 and 40 miles in length, are less than an hours drive from Oronoco
