Lake Shady viewed from Oronoco County Park [Click here to view full size picture]

The Lake Shady Restoration Committee was initially formed many years ago to see if dredging the Lake would be feasible.  Fund raising efforts were done and to date, $15,000 sits in the City’s Lake Shady Special Fund.  At this time, the Committee is reviewing 3 options for Lake Shady:

Ø  Restoration of the Lake to include dredging

Ø  Removal of the Dam, convert Lake Shady to a River

Ø  Leave as is – no improvement

These and many questions/issues are discussed during monthly meetings.  Currently, members of the Committee are working with the Zumbro Watershed partnership to find ways to help Lake Shady.  A weblink is listed below.  Please read the Lake Shady Meeting Minutes as well here – http://www.oronoco.com/localgovt9650694.asp
