Park Committee Minutes 1-0-08
Trail Mapping -- Adam will meet
Friday with city engineer Joe Palen to discuss the plan. Adam has agreed
to take the lead on this project and is intending to step down once it is
complete. Trail mapping was budgeted for and approved in the
2007.
Park signs -- Matt will talk with
Tim to determine the plan. Sign Here is the vendor we used for park
signage and can easily pull something together. Matt and Tim will work on
locations and placement.
Soccer Goals -- Matt will
request Tim research some options for the Park Board to review at its February
meeting. The goal is to have more commercial grade goals available this
spring. The Committee also discussed marking the field in 2008.
Park Board Chair -- This was
Matt Jennissen's last meeting. The Committee thanked him for his
dedication and efforts to the City of Oronoco. Emily Fletcher has agreed
to be interim chair for February. The Committee is in desperate need of
new members since at least two others plan to rotate off the Committee this
spring. Without new membership a Parks Committee may not exist.
Matt plans to talk with the Zumbro
Hills Association about possible dedication of parkland in their
neighborhood.
Adam plans to send an updated
parkland dedication ordinance to Planning and Zoning for review. This
would include language relative to the trail mapping and include dedication
requirements for commercial and industrial areas.
