Oronoco Park Board Minutes:  May 5, 2008

Approval of new member Lance Sorenson:  The Oronoco Park Board approved membership of Lance Sorenson.*

Approval of Soccer Goals:  The Oronoco Park Board approved purchase of soccer goals to be placed at Riverwood Hills at a total cost of $1,652.00.*

Review of Park Signs:  The Park Board approved the purchase of directional signs for the parks from the county as necessary.

Update on T-Ball Program:
68 kids at $5= $340
6 sponsors at $100 = $600
Total Revenue: $940.00
EXPENSE:
Shirts:
68 kids + 22 adult volunteers = 90 shirts
90 shirts x $ 7 (approx) = $630.00
medals at the end of year: $110 (approx)
TOTAL FINANCIALS OF T-BALL

* With the dramatic increase in the number of children involved, the Park Board approved expending up to $300 for the purchase of additional equipment.  The Board also thanked LeAnn Baumann for her coordination of this program.

Wild Flower Plantings:  The Park Board will review and recommend areas to seed with wild flowers as a way to save mowing expense.  The Park Board also agreed to stop mowing the park off of 3rd Ave. SW to determine if it is an area suitable for native prairie.  It will be re-evaluated later this summer.

Ball Diamond Drag:  The Park Board approved purchase of a ball diamond drag at the cost of $885.00.*

New Chair:  Emily Fletcher is the new chair of the Park Board.
