Gold Rush

    Ice Sales roster

Emily Fletcher discussed.  A few vacant spots, but there are a few residents that should be able to fill in the gaps.

Replacement "Ball Caps" for the Memorial Field sign

Replacements from Sign Here are $70.  It was suggested to check Menards or other Home Improvement stores for a cheaper replacement.  It was also suggested to find some that mount inside of the post as to make it more difficult to have removed.  Matt will check at Menards for a different replacement.

River Park Fencing estimates (Emily)

Estimates for fencing the tennis court came in much higher than anticipated.  Emily was asked to check with a couple other companies.  The two estimates that came in were $14,000 and $9200.

Budget requests for 2008

Tractor  Kevin does not believe this needs to come from the Parks budget.

Fencing  We will request $10,000 to have the fencing, striping and net installed for River Park.

We wil also request $1500 to have the Comprehensive Trail mapping completed.

We will also make the request for CC to look at the feasibility of installing a 2nd ballfield in the city, preferably on the east side, Perhaps in Jech's development.

T-ball

    How did it go?

Grant reported that many compliments and thank yous were received.  All in all in went very well.

    2008?

Two different age groups are likely, however LeAnn would need more help.  Also will need multiple nights of sign up as there were many families that could not make the one sign up night.  We would probably play the older group at Memorial field, and the younger group in Riverwood Hills in the open grassy area.

Co-ed softball league in Oronoco for 2008

Discussed and recommend that Nichole Lien continue looking into it.

Valley View access trail.

Due to budget restraints, it was decided that we will suggest the access trail be left grassy, but would like to connect it to the current trail via a gravel path.  Matt will look into ballpark figures to have the gravel path installed from the back of the residential lots and extend straight south to connect to the current trail.  As for the homeowner having installed extensive landscaping in the easement, the Parks committee will recommend that the homeowner remove any landscaping that is in the easement and restore the easement back to it's prior condition by the spring of 2008.  The Parks committee will then work with the adjacent landowners to come up with a "natural" fencing or border to mark the trail corridor.

Emily Fletcher mentioned that she has received a number of complaints regarding vehicle traffic on the trail system.  Emily stated that she has seen many vehicles that appear to be working at the pumphouse using the Sunny View Lane trail access, and they are driving at unsafe speeds.  It would appear as though these are vehicles that assumably Dan Fitzpatricks staff or contractors.  The maintenance access point for Dan is supposed to be off the cul de sac to the NW of the park area.  We assume that the Sunny View Lane access is being used because of the washout that has not been repaired in Dan's access.  This is creating an unsafe trail system with vehicle traffic and needs to end immediately.  Kevin will ask Cheryl to send a letter to Dan Fitzpatrick asking this to cease.  We would also like to look into installing some type of blocking device that can be removed to allow city vehicles access.

Any additions, please get them to me.
