Oronoco Area History Center

The new Oronoco Area History Center (OAHC) is in its fledgling stages, but will grow to immense proportions in time if people find it as rewarding as the people who started it.  In July 2006, four women gathered and began to plan how to start a history center for the Oronoco Area.  The process has been slow, but there are now 20 members who believe in it and are willing to help.  Much of the history that is out there has been in several different places.  A central place to store and display some of this material and artifacts will be an asset to the community.  At this time, the Center has leased a space at the Oronoco Community Center, upstairs east room..  Many items are needed and more people involved would be very helpful.  Committees are starting to arrange cataloging, displays, publicity, and other projects.  The OAHC invites all people to get involved in whatever way they see fit.  Meetings are held in the Center on the second Saturdays of each month at 9:00 a.m.  Everyone is invited.
