RENTAL OF ROOMS

The City of Oronoco rents the Oronoco Community Center meeting rooms to various organizations and groups. There are at least three rooms that can be rented and two kitchens. The fee is based on which room/rooms are rented. The room rental ranges from $75 - $150, along with a refundable damage deposit. There are three levels in the building. Pictures and discriptions of the rooms are shown on this page.

The downstairs consists of a kitchen, dining room and a smaller room across the hall. No bathrooms are located on this level.

On the main level, there is both a men's and women's bathroom, our City Clerk's office, the main floor kitchen, the Council Room and the Senior's Room. The rooms are handicapped accessible, however the kitchen is not.

The upstairs has two large meeting rooms and a men's and women's bathroom. You must climb a set a stairs to get to these rooms.

Both kitchen's have a stove, refridgerator and a sink area. Cookware is limited but we are trying to gather donations to help "stock" the kitchens.

A City Park/playground is located on the grounds and the Oronoco County Park is located within walking distance. There is a ball diamond and a basketball court located on the grounds.

Some area families rent rooms for their family reunions, wedding receptions, graduations or birthday parties.

The Oronoco Community Center's interior was recently repainted and the woodwork restored with the help of Olmsted County's Sentence to Serve Program. Local residents also donated their time painting the downstair's rooms.

Room rental is done by contacting our City Clerk at 367-4405. The City Clerk will determine the fee and if the room is available. Please note that there is no alcoholic beverages allowed on the property.

Main Floor Kitchen

Room Rental of Kitchen is $75 - $150 with rental of one of the other rooms. The Council Room is located across the hall from the kitchen. Groups usually rent both the kitchen and the Council Room for family gatherings. A refridgerator and stove are available for your use.

Council Room

Located on the main level, this room is large and works well for family reunions. We have tables and chairs for this room.

Room rental is $75 - $150.
The Oronoco City Council meets the third Monday and the Oronoco Township Board meets the first Monday of the Month.

Senior's Room

This is were the Oronoco Senior's Group holds their meetings. The room is sometimes rented for group meetings.

The rental for this room is $75 - $150.

Downstairs Kitchen/Dining Room

This is a large kitchen area with a pass through window to the dining room. The dining room seat a large group. Rental of the kitchen and dining room is $75 - $150. If you only need the dining room, the rate is $75.

There is room located across the hall and is sometimes rented with the kichen/dining room.

Downstairs TV Room

This is a small room but works well for children. A TV and VCR is located in this room. The room is carpeted and could work well for rental for the younger children.

Some area residents have used it for viewing/using exercise tapes.

Upstairs Meeting Room

The Upstairs meeting room is set up with maps of the area. This is used for Oronoco Townships Planning Committee.

A smaller group could meet in this room.

The Historic Room

A "Historic Room" has been created by the Oronoco Area History Center. We have had the original library bookshelves installed in this room. At this time, this room is not for rental.
